WILSON SIGNS CHRISTIE VAN HEES
CHICAGO, January 29, 2004 - Wilson Racquet Sports has signed
top professional racquetball player Christie Van Hees of Canada.
Van Hees, a former #1 player and World Champion, has compiled
a lengthy list of titles, including 6-time Canadian Junior
Champion, 3-time Canadian National Champion, and 2000 US Open
Champion. She has also been a member of two Canadian National
Pan American Teams.
She recently returned to the pro tour after a two-year absence
and plans to play on the LPRA full time. She finished 2nd
at the 2003 US Open Championships, only her second pro tournament
since getting back in the game last fall, and became the first
unranked player to go from being a qualifier to a finalist
in racquetball's Grand Slam event.
"Christie is the missing piece of our puzzle,"
stated Chris Evon, Marketing Manager of Wilson Indoor Racquet
Sports. "We are excited to have another top woman representing
Wilson. Christie shares our vision of promoting racquetball
throughout the country and will conduct her own series of
clinics as she travels competing on the pro tour."
Van Hees is a native of Kelowna, British Columbia.
